Swiss trade union Travail Suisse has called on the government to loosen immigration laws and allow more workers into the country in order to fill future labour market gaps in sectors such as education, healthcare and engineering.

Women in Switzerland earn 41 percent less than men, according to the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions (SGB). Wage discrimination has even increased over the past few years, the group said on Friday.
